2 years ago 1:28:10 The 3D artist whose work was immortalized on the cover of Time magazine was killed Monday by an accidental shooting at his apartment in a suburban Chicago neighborhood, police said.
Police said in a statement Monday night that the shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Clark Street, near the intersection of South Randolph and North Howard avenues.
The man was transported to a hospital where he later died.
Police said the victim’s name was not released and there was no immediate information on a possible motive.
The artist’s name, who is not being identified, had been posted on his official website, as well as other online profiles.
He also had an Instagram account that was used to post videos, photos and more, police officials said.
His work has been featured in Time magazine, CNN, Newsweek and the Huffington Post.
The Chicago Tribune reported that the artist’s sister told the newspaper that the art student was taking a break from the school’s art studio and was on his way home when he was killed.
He is survived by his wife and two children, the paper reported.
